Design Editor Overview

Left Menu Area

Click the icon image to open each of the tabs listed below. Click again to close the tab. Please note that depending on the settings for the design, not all options may be available.

Designs – Designs included in your order are found here. Information for the design such as the current editing status, number of downloads available, and the expiration date is shown in the thumbnail area for the design.

Graphics – You can find additional images for your design here (if provided), as well as upload your own images (if allowed). To add an image to the canvas, click once on the image, or drag and drop it onto the canvas.

Text – Click here to add a new text box to the design canvas. To add text, click where it says Add Text to Canvas on the name of the font you want, or drag the name of the font onto the canvas.

Background – This panel allows you to edit the background of the design. Depending on the options allowed for the design, you can select or upload an image for the background, or choose or change the background color (using Fill or Gradient) using the Image or Color options. To remove an image or color, select the None option.

You can also determine the placement of the background image using the following options:

  • Fill Canvas – This option centers the image on the canvas and fills the entire canvas (including the bleed area) with the image to the edge of the shortest side of the image.
  • Crop to Fill – This option initially fills the canvas with the image the same as the Fill Canvas option, but allows you to double-click on the background of the canvas and move and/or resize the image using transformation handles.
  • Tile Image – This option tiles the image from the upper left corner of the canvas. You can use the Tile Size slider to change the size of the image and the number of times the image tiles on the canvas.
  • Fit to Canvas – This option condenses and resizes the image so that it fits the canvas. This option does not keep the image’s original proportions.

Instructions - If the designer has provided any instructions on using the platform or editing the design, you can find that here.

Revert to Original - Use this button to revert any changes made to the design back to the original version.

The image will automatically replace the current image with the new one. Double-click on the replaced image to adjust the placement of the image and to zoom in or out.

Clipping Masks for Text – In addition to being used with frames, images can also be clipped using text as a mask. Send via Paperless Post – If available, selecting this option will allow you to send your invitation digitally using the platform Paperless Post. Once selected, it opens a pop-up window in Corjl where you can easily download your customized invitation template. Once the files are downloaded, you are sent to the Paperless Post website where you can upload your design, add event details, send invitations, and track RSVPs.

Print via Prints of Love – If available, this option allows you to order affordable quality prints from Prints of Love. Once selected, a pop-up window will open and allow you to download your files and then go to the Prints of Love website where you can place your print order.

Download – Click this option to begin the download process. When you click the Download button, the Download Design window will open. You will first need to select a download file type. These options can include PDF, JPEG, PNG, and SVG.

                PDF File Options

                • Paper Size – Use these options to select the paper size you will be printing on, or if you just want the design by itself, select Design Default Size. The size of the actual design will remain the same regardless of the paper size chosen.
                • Page numbers – By default, all pages of the design will download. To download specific pages of the design, deselect the Select all pages option, then type in page numbers in the provided field. Separate individual pages by commas, or a range of pages with a hyphen.
                • Show Bleed – Select this option to include a bleed around the edge of your canvas page.
                • Show Trim Marks – Select this option to apply trim marks to the download file to assist in cutting out the design.

                • Tile Different Design Pages – By default, the same page of the design will tile on the same page of the PDF. Select this option to tile different, or consecutive, pages of the design on the same PDF page instead. For example, if printing a single invitation, front and back, you will want to tile the same design on each PDF page. If printing a design with consecutive pages (like table numbers or a brochure, for example) then you want to select the Tile Different Design Pages option.
                • Download & Print – Click the Download button to download. Both front and back files will download, if applicable to your design. After downloading, find the file in your Downloads folder. If you are printing at home, be sure that the file prints at 100% or Actual Size in the print settings (Scale to Fit). If you are printing at a print shop, save the file to a USB flash drive, SD card, or send by email depending on the printer’s requirements.
                All Formats Other Than PDF
Depending on the item or seller, you may be able to choose other file download options, such as JPEG, PNG, and SVG. All other formats will also have the same Show Bleed, Show Trim Marks, and page selection options as PDF downloads. More options are discussed below:

Zip File Download Option – For designs with two or more pages, you will see the option to download the files in a Zip File folder. Select that option if desired. For larger designs with a higher number of pages, the Zip File option will be enabled by default for faster and easier downloading.

Download and Print – After downloading, find the file in your Downloads folder. If ordering prints online, upload the image(s) directly from your computer. You can also save the image to a USB flash drive or SD card and take it into a photo center to print. Be sure that the prints ordered are the same dimensions as the design.

Approve Proof – Depending on the shop owner’s settings and order type, you may see the Approve Proof button in the upper right corner of the screen instead of the Export button. This indicates that once you are done editing and saving your design, you will need to click on the Approve Proof button in order to complete your order.

If you are ordering printed items from the seller, clicking the Approve Proof button will alert the seller that your design is done being edited and ready to send to print.

Once you have clicked the Approve Proof button, you will no longer be able to make any changes to the design. A pop-up window will ask you if you are sure before completing. Please proofread your details, as once the item is completed, changes can no longer be made. If you do need to make changes after approving the proof, please contact your seller.

Saving, Downloading, and Printing Your Design

Saving Your Changes – Changes to your design will save automatically. To undo changes and go back to a previous edit, click on the Undo button.

Downloading – When ready to download, tap the “download” icon from the top menu to begin the download process. Select the file type you would like to use for the download file from the pop-up options. Based on your file type selection, you will see the following options:

                        PDF File Options

                        • Paper Size – In general, if printing with professional printers, choose the Design Default Size. If printing at home, choose 8.5x11 Inches. The size of the design will remain the same regardless of the paper size chosen.
                        • Page numbers – By default, all pages of the design will download. To download specific pages of the design, deselect the Select all pages option, then type in page numbers in the provided field. Separate individual pages by commas, or a range of pages with a hyphen.
                        • Show Bleed/Trim Marks – Choose to include the bleed and/or trim marks to allow for easier trimming or if requested by your printers.
                        • Fit Multiples Per Page – Select this option to fit multiple copies of the design pages onto one sheet of paper (if possible). Pages will tile consecutively on the same page unless the Tile Same Design is selected. For example, if printing a single invitation, front and back, you will want to tile the same design on each PDF page. If printing a design with consecutive pages (like table numbers or a brochure, for example) then you want to deselect this option.

All Formats Other Than PDF – Depending on the item or seller, you may be able to choose other file download options, such as JPEG, PNG, or SVG. All of these formats will have the same Show Bleed, Show Trim Marks, and page selection options as PDF downloads. Larger designs with a higher number of pages will download in a Zip File by default.

                          • After selecting the file type and options, tap the Next button to download the file. On the next screen, you can choose to either download the file directly to your mobile device by tapping the Download to device button, or have the file sent to you by email. If emailing the file, type in your email address in the field labeled Email (found at the top of the screen) then tap Send download link to email.

Please note: For some mobile devices, such as iPhones, it is recommended to email yourself the file instead of downloading to your device.

Printing – If you are printing at home, be sure that the file prints at 100% or Actual Size in the print settings (Scale to Fit). If you are printing at a print shop, save the file to a USB flash drive, SD card or email depending on the printer’s requirements. PDF files print best on card stock paper. JPEG files can be printed on card stock or photo paper; be sure that the prints ordered are the same dimensions as the design.

Approve Proof Option – For orders where your seller will be printing and shipping your order to you, you will see an Approve Proof button instead of the Download button. This indicates that once you are done editing and saving your design, you will need to click on the Approve Proof button in order to complete your order.

If you are ordering printed items from the seller, clicking the Approve Proof button will alert the seller that your design is done being edited and ready to send to print.

Please note: You will not be able to make any changes after approving the proof. Please check your information carefully before selecting this option.
