Turn Your Kid's Art into a Stunning Photo Collage

Turn Your Kid's Art into a Stunning Photo Collage

We all know the joy of seeing our kids' creativity burst to life on paper. Those crayon squiggles, finger-painted masterpieces, and glitter-covered wonders are precious pieces of their childhood. But what do you do when your fridge can't hold another masterpiece? It's time to transform those treasures into a stunning photo collage! Let's turn those little Picassos' works into beautiful, sentimental home decor that you'll cherish forever.

1. Snap Those Pics Like a Pro

First things first, we need to get those artworks digitized. Grab your phone and follow these simple steps:

  • Good Lighting: Find a spot with plenty of natural light. Avoid harsh shadows by photographing near a window.
  • Flat Surface: Lay the artwork flat on the floor or a table.
  • Steady Hand: Keep your phone parallel to the artwork and snap away! Use a scanning app if you want to get fancy or, if you have one, a tripod.
  • Edit Photos: If they need a little tweaking, either for colour, brightness, contrast...etc, take a minute or two to edit your best pics.

**If the art work is small enough (letter size or smaller) you can probably place it on a scanner, as long as there aren't sparkles, shiny parts (like metallics or plastic) or 3D pieces like pompoms. If you don't have a scanner, there are places that will digitize your images for you - like Staples.

2. Choose Your Favourites

I know, I know – every piece is a masterpiece. But for your collage, pick the ones that truly capture your child's spirit and creativity. Look for a mix of colours, themes, and sizes to create a balanced and visually appealing collage.

5. Display and Enjoy

Hang your new collage in a spot where everyone can admire it – the living room, hallway, or even the kiddo’s room. It’s not just a decoration; it’s a daily reminder of your child’s creativity and the joy of their early years.

Bonus Tip: Rotate Artworks

Keep things fresh by rotating new artworks into your collage every few months. This way, your home always reflects the latest and greatest from your little artist.

Turning your child's art into a photo collage is more than just decorating – it’s about celebrating their creativity and capturing beautiful memories. So, grab your phone, get snapping, and let’s create something amazing together!
