Hey there, I'm Angela!

and this is my story...

Just a maritime girl, from the Atlantic Canadian coast. A mom, artist, and photographer who’s always got something creative up her sleeve.

Totally into: chocolate, pretty spaces, and anything near a beach. Not to mention wearing my thoughts on my face. *Avoiding small talk since 1982.

I didn’t always have Playful Pixie Studio: the templates, the happy customers, or the thousands of downloads.

Not too long ago, you’d find me in the thick of motherhood, balancing family chaos and squeezing in creative moments between diaper changes, and school pickups. My passion for art and photography had always been there, but the thought of turning it into a full-blown business? That felt like an impossible dream, one I wasn’t sure I’d ever have time for.

Then one day, after another whirlwind of family life, it hit me: why not create a space where I could channel all that creativity? And even better, share it with others! That's when Playful Pixie Studio was born—a little idea that grew into a shop full of personalized, affordable art. Now, I get to juggle life, 2 beautiful kiddos (well teenagers, ahh!), and creativity in a way that makes everyday moments even more beautiful—for me and for you.

1982

Welcome
Yeah, total baby of the 80's.
Made my first trip to a children's hospital #suckylungs.
Mid 1980's

Started Drawing on Walls

Found ways to entertain myself as I grew up with a set of lungs that did didn't fully co-operate.
Sep 2001

Turned 19
Moved away from my small town.
Started College in the Foundation of Visual Art program.
Got my first apartment/roommates.
Jun 2004

Earned Photography Degree

Graduated from NBCCD where I fell in love with Digital Art, and my hubby.
*That's right I have 20 years and counting digital art and photography experience.
2005

Tied the Knot
Got married.
Became vegan.
2005-2010

Work it girl
Mostly paying off student loans and doing all my artsy stuff behind the scenes.
Moving around a lot.
2010

Became a Mom
Stopped sleeping.
Enjoying round one of Postpartum.
2012

Became a Mom: The Sequel
Still not sleeping.
Round two of Postpartum begins.
2015

Playful Pixie Studio
Opened my Etsy shop with toddler in tow.
Sleeping better.
Didn't know what i was doing, but did it anyway.

The girl who couldn’t help herself from drawing on her furniture and walls was bound to grow up wanting to make art that’s easy for everyone to enjoy.

Of course you can't get mad at the girl with that cute face who also had allergic bronchitis. If you know what that is, you have my sympathy.
